The Government of Cabo Verde learned of the Agreement between the United States, China, Russia, Germany, France, United Kingdom, European Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran which took place on July 14, 2015 and whose ultimate goal is to ensure that Iran's nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes, making it an important contribution in strengthening the Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty.
The Government of Cabo verde is convinced that this Agreement, which represents a significant change in the way nuclear-related issues and the use of nuclear energy are approached, opens up great prospects for the prompt handling of these issues at a global level and with direct and positive results for peace and international security.
Therefore, the Government of Cabo Verde congratulates all the countries directly involved in the negotiations for reaching a deal and encourages them to continue to make efforts in order to take this process to a successful conclusion.
