within the Cabo-Verdean Community.

Expressing commitment and solidarity in this difficult moment, working together with the Community Task-Force, the Embassy will be updating this information.

In the same way, efforts are in place to improve and facilitate the contacts with the Cabo-Verdeans in the United States, affected by the COVID-19.

A Embaixada da República de Cabo Verde em Washington D.C. alerta a comunidade residente no Estado de Massachusetts, que o Governo deste Estado aprovou um instrumento de apoio designado por Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)

Os interessados devem apresentar as suas candidaturas a partir de hoje, atraves do site seguinte: <http://www.mass.gov/pua>

PUA is a program open to the following individuals:

 * Self-employed individuals, including gig workers, freelancers, and independent contractors

  *  Those seeking part-time employment

  *  Claimants that have an insufficient work history to qualify for benefits

 * And claimants that have been laid off from churches and religious institutions and are not eligible for benefits under state law, as PUA is a separate program from regular unemployment insurance.

The Embassy of the Republic of Cabo Verde in Washington D.C. alerts to all Cabo Verdeans residents in the State of Massachusetts, that the Government of the State has approved last night an instrument called "Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)". 

All the interested claimants will be able to file for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) beginning at 8:30 am today 4/20/2020

They can do so by applying at:<http://www.mass.gov/pua>

PUA is a program open to the following individuals:
