Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Embassy of the Republic of Cabo Verde in Washington D.C. informs to the public and all official institutions, that and following the D.C. Authority's guidelines to close all non-essential business, it will be temporarily closed as of March 26th, 2020 until further notice.

1. The Special Flight will depart Boston Airport Tuesday, March 24th at 3:00 PM Local Time;

2. All Cabo Verdean nationals that have purchased a Cabo Verde Airlines return ticket, and therefore are eligible for repatriation are advised to contact the following individuals:

3. The Cabo Verdean nationals that have purchased return tickets in other flight companies (SATA, TAP, etc.), should provide all required information (name, passport, ticket number, flight company and return data in the ticket) through the email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Especial Flight

The Embassy of the Republic of Cabo Verde to the United States of America informs all the Cabo-Verdean nationals that, as a result of the Government decision to suspend the international flights, they were stranded on the US territory despite having a return ticket, that the Government of Cabo Verde will try to take advantage of an exceptional flight organized by the US authorities, destined to bring their nationals retained in Cape Verde, to facilitate their return to the country.

The Embassy clarifies that this is not a rescue flight, and it’s not for Cabo-Verdean nationals residing in the United States of America.

So, the Cabo-Verdean nationals in the above-described situation should immediately contact the Embassy in Washington, D.C.

They should provide all the required details on their passports, the existing return tickets and follow the upcoming instructions.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM US EMBASSY PRAIA

ANNOUNCEMENT

The US Embassy in Praia is working on developing a manifest of prioritized Americans. The airline or a travel agency will have to sell tickets for the flight. We don’t have an exact price yet but think it will be between $1600-2000. If there is enough demand, we may be able to fill more than one plane.

Following to the guidelines of the United States Government and the Authorities of Washington, D.C., on the COVID-19 Pandemic, in line also with the Central Services in Praia based on the preventive containment measures, the Embassy of the Republic of Cabo Verde to the United States of America informs to the community and all interested people, that it is restricted in person attendance starting from Monday, March 16, 2020.

This limited in person attendance regime is temporary. We strongly encourage everyone to approach the Embassy only in cases of extreme urgency, and through prior appointments via phone (202-965-6820);email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and/or Facebook (EmbaixadaCaboVerdeWashingtonDC).

The Embassy shares the same concerns in this difficult time, and encourages the Cabo-Verdean Community to strictly follow the authorities' guidelines on the COVID-19 containment.
