On January 8th, 2020, the Government of Cabo Verde published Resolution No. 8/2020, which eliminates visa application for passengers traveling to Cabo Verde for a short stay – up to 30 days – for citizens of the United States of America, Canada and Brazil.
With this measure, the Government intends to capture an important segment of tourists into the country as the Government is investing on the development of an Air Hub in the Sal Island, with an opening of direct flights to some of these countries.
The measure will enter into force on February 9th, 2020. All incoming travelers must do a pre-arrival registration and pay for the Airport Security Fee (TSA) at the online electronic platform EASE (www.ease.gov.cv), at least 5 days before the travel date. The TSA costs 3,400.00 CVE (about 35.00 USD) on international flights and 150.00 CVE (about 1.50 USD) on domestic flights. For more information, please access this link.
The registration consists in the submission of passport details and other relevant information such as arrival and departure dates, flight number and place of accommodation, allowing country national authority to do the travelers security pre-checking.
