Activities in the United States to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Independence of Cabo Verde

New England Area

 07/02 – Central Act at the State House. This event is being organized by the Consulate of Cabo Verde in Boston in partnership with Massachusetts State Representative Evandro de Carvalho and CVC UNIDO (Boston). 

One hundred and fifty participants are expected to attend including community members and representatives, association leaders, politicians and religious members, Cabo Verdean and American entrepreneurs, official entities from the region, among others.

07/04 – Boston Festival. There will be a ceremony at Boston City Hall which will include the raising of the Cabo Verdean and American flags-This will take place before or after the festival.

07/05 – New Bedford Parade (morning); Providence Festival (afternoon);

07/15 to 19 – The Consulate of Cabo Verde participates in the Festival “Outside the Box” – www.otbboston.com;

07/26 – Brockton Festival

August – Onset Festival

October - Celebration of National Day of Culture and Communities; Activities to mark this occasion have not been determined yet.

Washington DC

05/09- Cabo Verde Musical Night with dinner and live music, Savoy Hotel

07/11- Community picnic

September- Diplomatic Reception, Cabo Verde Chancery, Washington DC

October- Activities to commemorate the National Day of Culture and Communities

North Carolina

 08/08- Cape Verdean Independence Day Picnic at Cordelia Park in Charlotte

 Florida

 07/04- Independence Day Soccer Tournament in Kissimmee

07/05- BBQ at the beach, Cape Canaveral
